The verdict
The verdict: Scotiabank's up-to-$1,000 is the biggest number — if you can park a recurring direct deposit for six months and wait ~9 months for payout. Simplii's $300 plus $50 Skip gift card is the fastest money, paying out within days of your third deposit — but it expires September 30. Tangerine's $250 is the least effort: two months of payroll direct deposit. BMO's up-to-$900 is the quiet sweet spot, stacking three pieces.
Who this is for: Canadians with a steady paycheque willing to move their direct deposit for three to six months. Open one account, complete the qualifying actions, collect.
Who this is NOT for: Anyone who can't move a direct deposit (irregular income, paper-cheque employers), or anyone who recently held one of these accounts — the lookback exclusions below will disqualify you. Check your history before you apply.
Your move: Start with the offer expiring soonest — Simplii ends in two days, TD in three.
Expiry alert: two offers die this week
Two offers are on the clock as of September 28, 2026:
- Simplii — $300 + $50 Skip gift card: ends September 30, 2026 at 11:59pm ET. Two days left, and the $100/month direct deposit bar is the lowest on this page.
- TD — up to $750: ends October 1, 2026. Three days left. The $500 core piece needs only 2 of 3 qualifying actions.
Everything else runs into late October, November, or December. If you're making one switch this quarter, make it this week.

How to qualify, offer by offer
1. Scotiabank — up to $1,000 ($700 + $200 + $100), ends Oct 29, 2026
- $700: 6-month recurring direct deposit, plus 1 extra qualifying action within 60 days. The three pieces are paid around months 9, 10, and 10 — slow burn, not quick cash.
- $200 + $100: add the Money Master Savings bundle, then get approved for an eligible Scotiabank card and make a purchase.
- Watch out: 2-year chequing lookback. Held a Scotiabank chequing account in the last two years? You're likely out.
2. BMO — up to $900 ($700 + $150 + $50) + Walmart+ up to 12 months, ends Nov 2, 2026
- $700: direct deposit of at least $500 (first deposit by December 31, 2026), plus two bill payments or PADs of at least $50 each by December 31, 2026.
- $150: deposit $10,000 into a Savings Amplifier account within 30 days and hold a $10,000+ daily balance for 120 days plus another 90.
- $50: complete a My Financial Progress goal and strategy by December 31, 2026.
- Watch out: held or closed a BMO chequing or savings account between August 7, 2025 and November 2, 2026? Excluded. Caveat: bmo.com timed out during this check, so payout timing is unverified — structure confirmed via BMO's terms PDF.
3. CIBC — up to $850 ($500 + $100 + $250), no expiry stated
- $500 (Smart Account): direct deposit of at least $500 per month within 2 months of opening, then complete ONE of these in the same calendar month (within 60 days): two recurring PADs, OR two online bill payments of at least $50, OR five Visa Debit purchases.
- $100: get approved for an eligible CIBC card within 1 month of opening.
- $250: the CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite welcome offer — 10% cashback up to $200, plus a $50 bonus for setting up a pre-authorized payment.
4. TD — up to $750 ($500 + $150 + 4% bonus interest), ends Oct 1, 2026
- $500: complete 2 of 3 by December 2, 2026 — a recurring direct deposit, a recurring pre-authorized debit, or an online bill payment.
- $150 + 4% interest: open a savings account within 30 days, set up a PAD or Simply Save transfer, get approved for an eligible TD card within 30 days, and earn 4% bonus interest on the linked savings account for 90 days.
- The catch is the clock: ends October 1 — three days from this check. Apply this week.
5. National Bank — up to $600 ($300 + $100 + $100 + $100), ends Nov 3, 2026
- $300: within 120 days of opening, enrol in online banking, complete 20 transactions, and set up 3 automatic deposits of at least $100 each. Paid by the end of month 6.
- $100: eligible card approval plus 20 purchases. $100: mortgage pre-authorized debit. $100: $5,000 into the high-interest savings account, held to day 120.
- Watch out: 12-month keep-or-reimburse clause — close early and you may owe the bonus back. 36-month lookbacks apply. The Connected account costs $15.95/month, waived at a $4,500 balance.
6. Simplii — $300 + $50 Skip digital gift card, ends Sep 30, 2026 at 11:59pm ET
- How: eligible recurring direct deposit of at least $100 per month for 3 consecutive months, all within 120 days. The $300 lands within 3 business days of the third deposit; the $50 Skip digital gift card is emailed by the final day of the following month.
- Watch out: new clients only — no Simplii product on or before March 1, 2025, account open and active 1 year. Not available in Quebec.
7. Tangerine — $250, ends Oct 31, 2026
- How: payroll direct deposit of at least $200 per month for 2 consecutive months.
- Watch out: your Tangerine client number must be from May 1, 2024–October 31, 2026, with the account opened within 60 days of it and the first deposit landing within 60 days of opening.
8. RBC Day to Day Banking — $150 + no monthly fee for 12 months, ends Dec 8, 2026
- How: open digitally between July 8 and December 8, 2026, then complete 2 of 3 qualifying actions by February 16, 2027.
- Watch out: ever held an RBC personal banking account — or held one in the last five years? Excluded. The 12 months of no monthly fee is real savings on an account that usually charges one.
9. RBC Signature No Limit / VIP — Apple iPad ($649 value), ends Nov 2, 2026
- How: within 90 days of opening, complete 2 of 3 — a full payroll or pension direct deposit, two pre-authorized payments, or two bill payments.
- Watch out: keep the account open and qualifying activities going until November 2, 2027 — a full year. Five-year prior-holder exclusion. No cash option: if you'd rather have money than an iPad, take a cash offer above.
Also on the board
- EQ Bank Personal Account: no cash bonus. Pays 2.75% interest with payroll direct deposit of at least $2,000/month, otherwise 1.00%. A rate play, not a bonus play.
- Wealthsimple Chequing: no bank-paid signup bonus. The referral program pays $25 to each side on a qualifying external deposit of at least $100 within 30 days (180-day hold). Ongoing.
The fine print that actually matters
- Lookback periods decide everything. "New client" means looking backward: 2 years at Scotiabank, 5 years at RBC, Aug 7, 2025–Nov 2, 2026 at BMO, no Simplii product on/before Mar 1, 2025. If you've churned before, match the exact dates against your history.
- Direct deposit means payroll direct deposit. Moving money between your own accounts almost never counts — it has to come from an employer, pension, or government source.
- "Up to" is doing real work. The headline assumes you earn every piece. Be honest about which pieces you'll actually complete.
- Quebec: Simplii is not available in Quebec; other offers' Quebec eligibility was not confirmed — read your province's terms before applying.
How this tracker works
This article wraps Cash Club's promo tracker — a living table of every bank account bonus in Canada, re-verified against issuer pages weekly. The rule: a bonus only counts as verified if a live issuer page or official terms document confirms it, with the check date recorded. Third-party roundups are treated as suspect until the issuer confirms.
What "checked" means: the figure was seen on the bank's own offer page or terms on September 28, 2026. Caveats: BMO's payout timing is unverified (bmo.com timed out; structure confirmed via its terms PDF); EQ Bank and Wealthsimple rest on the verifier's same-day first-party pass rather than a fresh third-party spot-check.
Refresh dependency: offers change and die on bank schedules, not ours. These numbers are frozen at September 28, 2026. The tracker is re-verified weekly — a fresh sweep is due in the first week of October, since Simplii and TD expire within days of this check. If a number here disagrees with the bank's current page, the bank's page wins.
Cash Club has no affiliate relationships with any bank on this page and receives no commission if you open an account — the ranking is by bonus math alone.
